Yes. Decoding your MRI report is free, requires no signup, and works from any device with a browser.
Is my MRI report stored anywhere?＋
No. Your report text or file is sent to the AI provider only to generate the translation, and is not saved to a database on our servers. Please still remove personal identifiers (name, MRN, date of birth) before pasting if you want extra privacy.
Does MRIdecoder diagnose my condition?＋
No. MRIdecoder is an educational translator. It explains what medical terms mean in plain English. It does not diagnose, treat, or recommend any course of action. Always follow up with a qualified physician.
How accurate is the translation?＋
MRIdecoder uses a large medical-tuned language model with a strict system prompt: 'explain what anatomical terms mean, do not diagnose.' The glossary definitions are drawn from standard radiology references, but AI can still make mistakes. Treat the output as a study aid, not a second opinion.
Can I upload a PDF or a photo of my report?＋
Yes. You can paste text, attach a PDF, or upload a phone photo. The model reads the file directly using vision — no OCR step required.
Which body regions are supported?＋
Any MRI region: brain, cervical spine, lumbar spine, knee, shoulder, abdomen, pelvis, breast, cardiac, and more. The tool translates whatever anatomical language your report contains.
What languages does MRIdecoder support?＋
The plain-English output is available in English, Hindi, Spanish, French, Arabic, Portuguese, and German. Medical terms stay in their original Latin/English so you can share them with any doctor.
Is MRIdecoder HIPAA or GDPR compliant?＋
MRIdecoder is an educational tool and is not a HIPAA-covered entity. We do not store reports and do not sell data. If you are a clinician handling PHI at scale, please contact us before using it in a clinical workflow.
Can MRIdecoder replace a second opinion from a surgeon?＋
No. If your report suggests a decision about surgery, injection, or a major treatment, use the 'Consult a Surgeon' option or seek a qualified second opinion in person.
